a day in the glow life
I am ALL for daily glow ups (aka what we can do in our lives to shine brighter in our health & wellness) & was the main fuel for creating the Glow Life Blueprint, so I wanted to chat today, specifically, about what that looks like for me (my own daily blueprint, if you will)!
Creating daily (health supporting) rituals is a powerful way to truly change your trajectory of your life path. Because…
With incremental + tiny daily changes, you set yourself on a completely different path than if you had decided not to do them. You won't notice it right away/it won't feel like much, but in time, you'll look back and see the monumental growth you've gifted yourself. All by simply making small daily choices.
And this is how I live + do things. It doesn’t always work out effortlessly, but by putting in the work to consistently be trying to up-level/up-scale your life is where the power lies.
This idea REALLY set in for me years ago from reading The Slight Edge (definitely worth a read it if you haven't already) & has had a huge impact in how I show up (or rather 'glow up') in my day-to-days.
So without further ado, let me show you what that typical day looks like! XO
a day in the glow life
am:
Wake up & take a few deep belly breaths (while my son is most definitely still asleep & snuggled right up next to me...they're only little for so long, right...).
Make bed + open blinds.
Morning bathroom routine: tongue scrape, roll rose essential oil on cheeks + forehead, and spritz face (with rose water).
Head to kitchen and first thing is ALWAYS warm lemon water (3 cups of room temp water + 1 cup hot kettle water + 1/2 organic lemon squeezed in - I share why this is beneficial in my highlights here).
Get a diffuser blend going.
Then I break my 12-15 hour fast with my morning ritual glow drink. If I'm eating breakfast after this it's normally oatmeal (this brand is the best + is glyphosate-free) with chia/hemp/flax & wild blueberries.
If I'm doing caffeine, I'll usually make a wellness latte (with homemade milk + maple syrup + adaptogens added) or an iced matcha (make sure you're getting ceremonial grade matcha - this brand is my absolute fave. I've never tasted a better matcha!).
Take any supplements that I'm feeling my body needs (currently it's: Moon Juice SuperHair & Vimergy B12 + zinc + lemon balm)
Then if it's a workout day, I'll try to head to F45 (my gym) or do a barre workout at home (I personally love Xtend Barre [hosted on Beachbody now] - I started doing it over 3+ years ago in early postpartum & I've never looked back!).
midday:
Eat lunch - usually leftovers or Sakara.
Make another drink, like Rasa (turmeric chai or their seasonal peppermint cacao are delicious & nurturing for this time of day).
Depends on the day, some days I like to take a 10-20 min power nap (kids allowing, as you might guess ;).
If I haven't been outside much because of work, etc (hello, yesterday!), then I'll take the kids for a walk to get the mail to get us out.
Prep dinner (I've just recently started planning out the meals for the week more - before this, I was in the mode of winging everything, but it feels nice having a plan again).
eve:
Dinner served. Music playing (I typically get hooked on a song & create playlists around it. The current fave is: I Follow - Nicolas Haelg). Family connection + communication time.
Tidy up kitchen (must look clean for the next day). Final tidy up of other areas (remember: a chaotic space leads to a chaotic mind).
A walk after dinner, especially if we didn't go earlier (helps with digestion and bonus if you can catch the sunset to sync to your circadian rhythm).
Hubby takes care of kiddos bedtime (especially our 4-year-old), so I can do my night time routine: sauna (we have this one), shower, gua sha + face routine.
Relax time with hubby - sometimes we throw on a stretching vid before we hang out & watch a show. And, sometimes we'll enjoy a glass of wine from Dry Farm Wines (all natural + organic, zero sugar, & additive-free), otherwise I'm fasting right after dinner ends.
Sometimes if we didn't stretch earlier, I'll stretch + meditate before crawling into bed - I like to do it right beside the bed on the floor with high hertz or binaural beats music playing.
If I'm not feeling super tired (thanks, coffee...), I always roll oils on my feet (vetiver, copaiba, or lavender are my faves) & sometimes read in bed (but only with my phone in red screen mode to block the blue light - which messes up your sleep cycle & tricks you into thinking it's still daytime. This is why we really need to cut back on tech use after sunset). I'm currently reading about the body healing itself (very fitting after my last last newsletter - sign up here if you aren’t getting them yet!).
Phone on airplane mode before actually falling asleep—this one is SO important (so make sure you do it)!!
Asleep before 11pm + getting 8 hours of sleep.
And that’s it!
Like anything, this will probably look different in a few months time but for now this is what’s happening & it’s fun to capture this snippet in time.
Which is why I would LOVE to know what are some of your 'glow ups' in your daily routine!
If you feel like sharing them, you can comment below or send me an email because I would LOVE to see how amazing you are!
Hope you have a beautiful week ahead & glow on!
