the story of the yellow bird

Oh my goodness. I’m on Cloud 9 right now! Why? Because yesterday I watched Carrie Green (if you don’t know who she is… she’s creator of The Female Entrepreneur Association & she’s amazing, so make sure you check her out) do a FB live on visualization and it led to the most amazing things happen today.
She had us think about something (an object, whatever you wanted & visualize it), and then look for a sign.
Pause for a moment: This is something I’ve kinda sorta attempted in the past, but not really. I’ve thought about things and, again, kinda sorta looked for a sign, but not really. I’ve never truly put in the work to make visualizing a regular practice (besides one crazy time but that’s for another story…). Ok, un-pause.
So, last night before bed, I went for it and picked my object/item: a yellow bird.
Now if I’m being honest, I picked it because I felt like it would be something super hard to find, so if I did, in fact, find it in the next 24 hours (the timeline I set for myself) that this was REAL! And if I’m being really honest, I was willing to settle for finding a canary seeing as it’s more common, but deep down I was really looking & hoping to find a different yellow bird.
So, I woke up this morning and went about my day—with the bird on my mind and in my awareness. I knew that I was semi-searching for it but also not expecting a miracle. (Spoiler alert: HA!)
And then, something amazing did happen… but WITHOUT the bird! So I thought that maybe that was the sign instead and I got mixed up in the process of what I was actually trying to attract in the visualization. (I tell ya, these mom minds have a lot going on in them!)
But then we get to the good part…
The whole day had gone by and still no bird. Then, walking back from the mailbox after dinner at dusk… a late night FedEx package was being delivered. It ended up being this package of homeschool material I ordered for Nia last week. We went inside and Nia excitedly opened the package to find the crafts and books I ordered.
She was excited for the crafts (hello, make your own crystals), but I was more excited for the books and secretly ordered them for my own interest because that’s what moms do, right? And then, there it was… right on the front of a sticker book… THE YELLOW BIRD!
And here’s the BEST part… is it a canary? NOPE! It’s a fricken Yellow Warbler! (Don’t even know what this bird is.) The yellow bird that I wanted to not be a canary literally was NOT a canary! It happened.
I nearly died of overjoy. I DID IT! I visualized something and it fricken appeared right in front of me, exactly how I wanted it!! I’ve been pumped up all evening and now I can’t wait to dig into this more. To attach my visualization to something beyond just ‘a sign.’
Because, if I’m being honest… I really needed this. To know that it’s possible and that the Universe truly does want to deliver for you on whatever it is you set your mind to. When you truly get intentional with it, you can do it.
So thank you, Universe… for letting me trust in you and showing me what is possible. The crazy (awesome) part is… I know I can do this more and can feel what it’s like to do this again (and again) in the future. And the feeling keeps getting better and better.
