the real deal pumpkin spice smoothie
You know what season we’re in… pumpkin spice everything! Yup, it’s officially taken over for fall/autumn.
Before, I never used to understand the craze. I mean, I liked me some pumpkin, but never loved it. And then magically… something changed. And thank goodness it did, otherwise, who knows if this recipe would have been created!
So to fuel your pumpkin drink obsession (since we already have lattes—but don’t you fret, I also have a recipe for this coming soon!), I thought I would cool things down with a pumpkin spice smoothie. This smoothie is the legit thing. With REAL pumpkin lurking in it to fuel your orangey-glow appearance / Vitamin A needs (no, seriously, check below to see the nutrition details on this)!
Let’s dig in & slurp up this deliciousness!
pumpkin spice smoothie
makes: approx. 1 small
INGREDIENTS:
1/2-3/4 cup non-dairy milk (soy makes it super creamy & dreamy, but I have also used almond)
1 frozen banana
2-3 tbsp organic canned pumpkin puree (NOT the one with the spices already in it)
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (see note/recipe below)
splash of vanilla extract
maple syrup, to sweeten
10 drops reishi mushroom extract (optional)
HOW TO:
Add all ingredients to high-speed blender and blend on high until smooth.
NOTE: for the pumpkin spice, you can buy store-bought (please try for organic) OR try making your own with my recipe below!!
homemade pumpkin spice mix
Use in this smoothie recipe along with homemade pumpkin spice lattes, and wherever else the spice strikes!
1-1.5 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/4-1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp all spice
1/8-1/4 tsp clove
Shake all ingredients together and store in a (glass) jar. Consider tripling or quadrupling the recipe for bigger batch for easier use.
Now once you make this and slurp it down in a few minutes flat, let’s quickly take note of how glowing your body is actually getting with the nutrition deets:
So please enjoy responsibly and I am not taking the fall for the orange hued skin that might occur with persistent drinking of this delicious drink 😂🎃
